The animals
Almond Hill Bed and Breakfast has a number of animals in residence. These are the tame ones, but you might also spot some wild ones such as owls, wedgetailed eagles, cockatoos, galahs, rabbits, lizards etc. If you hear a rattly, hissy growly noise like marbles pouring into a metal sink, it will be a possum. They don't hang around near the house, but if you go for a walk where all the trees are late at night you might be lucky enough to spot one.

Farouk
Farouk is one of my old donkeys. He is over 30 years old, very placid, and a most gentle eater who will daintily pick food from your hand. He used to pull a cart in Cobdogla Caravan Park, but has since retired from that and been adopted by us. We do ride him a bit, and he patiently lets us.

Velasquez
Velasquez is my other donkey. He is also over 30 years old, more frisky, and an impatient eater who will greedily grab any food you care to offer (watch your fingers). He used to pull the cart with Farouk as a team. In winter they get very woolly, and in summer it all comes off, to the benefit of local birds who make nests with the cast-off hair.

Felix
Felix The Alternative Cat, or Felix for short, is my Jack Russell terrier. He is very cute and exciteable and will not bite. He will greet you on your arrival but then leave you alone once he knows who you are.

Felice
Felice was born in a stable not far from here. Her parents were both mousers and so is she. She skilfully patrols the borders of the property, and pretends to be harmless and cuddly the rest of the time. Wintertime she doesn't leave the fireside, taking the best spot before Felix gets a chance. Please do not invite her into your area as she will immediately shed a liberal sprinkling of white fur all over the place, and in the interest of allergic people I need to keep that area animal free. She is best patted outside, or in the main house.

Poddy
Poddy has moved to a vineyard behind the primary school in Angaston. You could possibly see him with the telescope! I had to keep his photo here because it is just too nice. He is an Anglo Nubian wether goat, and we bottlefed him from when he was born.
